"Status of Edge Transport node <UUID> is PARTIALLY_DISCONNECTED" upgrade pre-check error

Issue/Introduction

• Edge upgrade pre-checks fail with these errors
  • Status of Edge Transport node <UUID> is PARTIALLY_DISCONNECTED
  • Status of edge cluster <UUID> is DEGRADED
• The Edge has an alarm raised against it
       Transport Node Certificate has expired
• On the NSX UI, System -> Fabric -> Nodes, the Edge status is Success and Up

Cause

NSX Edge upgrade pre-checks fail with this error when the Transport Node certificate on the Edge has expired. The certificate must be replaced to proceed with upgrade.
