Unable to delete datacenter group in VMware Cloud Director with "Error while performing deletion of Universal Router" as the cause

Issue/Introduction

In VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1 when attempting to delete a datacenter group a similar error is returned:
Error while deleting VDC Group <your datacenter group name>.
Error while performing deletion of Universal Router '<universal router name>'.
class com.vmware.vcloud.networking.model.network.Network cannot be cast to class com.vmware.vcloud.networking.model.network.TenantNetwork (com.vmware.vcloud.networking.model.network.Network and com.vmware.vcloud.networking.model.network.TenantNetwork are in unnamed module of loader java.net.FactoryURLClassLoader @17d677df)

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1

Cause

There are stale references in the Cloud Director database that need to be cleaned.

Resolution

Open a support request with Broadcom VCF support referencing this article along with a database backup.
