Issue/Introduction

After configuring an Active Directory authentication source in Aria Operations, you receive the following error when attempting to log in with an Active Directory user:

Error synchronizing user information with an AD/LDAP Authentication Source.

In the /storage/vcops/log/analytics-<id>.log you see messages similar to:

Groups sync for ldap: INTERNAL failed: Unable to fetch users in usergroups. Reason: [LDAP: error code 49 - 80090308: LdapErr: DSID-0C09050F, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 52e

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

LDAP: error code 49 - 80090308: LdapErr: DSID-0C09050F indicates the credentials being used to log in to the Active Directory source are incorrect.

Resolution

Edit the Active Directory authentication source under Administration > Control Panel > Authentication Sources and enter the correct username and password to access the Active Directoy source.
