VMware Cloud Director metadata missing for some VMs

Issue/Introduction

• Configured metadata for a number of VMs as per documentation Manage the Metadata of a Virtual Machine in VMware Cloud Director 
• VMware Cloud Director adapter in Aria Operations collection state and collection status is ok
• Metadata metric(s) for the VM is showing 0 meaning its not collecting data

Environment

VCD 10.6.x

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

Metadata is not enabled in the VMware Cloud Director Adapter adapter configuration 

Resolution

1. Sign into Aria Operations product UI
2. Navigate to Administration > Integrations > Expand VMware Cloud Director Adapter > Select the affected VMware Cloud Director Adapter instance > Click on 3 dots beside the affected adapter instance > Click edit > expand "Advanced Settings" 
3. Locate the setting 'Enable Metadata' select true 
4. Locate the setting 'Advance Metrics Collection Interval (Minutes) and change the default from 1440 to 5 minutes
5. Locate the setting 'Metadata Collection Interval (Minutes) and change the default from 1440 to 5 minutes
6. Click save and allow for 5 minute collection cycle 
7. Once collection has started you can update Advance Metrics Collection Interval (Minutes) and Metadata Collection Interval (Minutes) back to default value of 1440
