Issue/Introduction

By Default, local LiveUpdate Administrator (LUA) Distribution Centers listens on port 7070 for HTTP.  Steps are needed to enable HTTPS.

Environment

LiveUpdate Administrator 2.3.5 or later

Resolution

Configure LUA console to use HTTPS

  1. On the Home page, next to the Troubleshoot link, click Convert to HTTPS  (To switch back to HTTP from HTTPS, click Convert to HTTP).
If LiveUpdate Administrator uses HTTPS already and you want to convert it to HTTP, click Convert to HTTP.
  2. When you see a message asking you to continue, click OK.
  3. If you see a message to that your SMTP settings are not configured, click OK.
    LiveUpdate Administrator logs out.
  4. Close your browser, reopen it, and log on to the LiveUpdate Administrator console.
All URLs now use the HTTPS protocol and should reflect port 7073 instead of 7070.  Until this step is completed, the LUA will not listen on port 7073.

Note:  If you switch to the HTTPS protocol and then upgrade, the installation switches back to the default of HTTP. You must follow the procedure to switch back to HTTPS after the upgrade completes.
