There is a requirement to forward logs from VMware Aria Automation to more than one destination. For example, if VMware Aria Operations for Logs (vRLI) is already configured as the primary log forwarding destination, the question arises whether an additional remote syslog server can also be configured.
Aria Automation 8.x
Due to performance considerations and architectural design, Aria Automation supports only a single active upstream log forwarding instance. Attempts to configure multiple upstreams are restricted and enforced via the CLI.
Aria Automation limits log forwarding to a single upstream. To forward logs to multiple destinations, the following approach is recommended:
1. Configure Aria Operations for Logs (vRLI) as the primary integration.
2. Use vRLI’s built-in forwarding capability to send logs to additional syslog or third-party monitoring/analysis tools.
This method ensures that logs are efficiently managed without impacting Aria Automation’s performance.
