vApp object not properly formed in VMware Cloud Director

Issue/Introduction

• A vApp in VCD displayed as not properly formed and can not be powered on.
• The VCD interface reports that the object is incomplete and not functioning as expected.

Environment

• 10.3.3.4

Cause

• The vApp did not complete its deployment process.
• The deployment workflow was disrupted during a period when VCD was undergoing recovery and maintenance activity.
• At the same time, a deployment operation for a vApp was triggered.
• The overlap of these events resulted in an incomplete vApp object which was not able to be powered on from VCD.

Resolution

• Redeploy the vApp to bring it into a consistent and supported state. This ensures the deployment workflow completes successfully.

Additional Information

• Responsibility for vApp lifecycle management lies outside of Broadcom Support.
• Support remains available to assist with VMware platform related issues if they reoccur.
