vCenter UI installer freezes when 1000+ networks exist

Issue/Introduction

• The vCenter UI Installer UI freezes on the screen where you select the network to deploy to in Stage 1.
• The specified deployment destination vCenter has more than 1000 port groups.

Environment

This issue has been confirmed to occur in the following versions:

• vCenter Server 8.0 U3e (24853646)
• vCenter Server 8.0 U3g (24674346)
• vCenter Server 9.0 (24755230)

Resolution

Please avoid this by doing one of the following:

• Specify ESXi as the deployment target instead of vCenter
• Use the CLI installer instead
• Use vCenter Server 8.0 U3d or earlier
