Getting an error "you do not have the rights to perform the action." when updating Work Status on some projects.

Issue/Introduction

We are getting the error "you do not have the rights to perform the action." for the process which is updating Work Status attribute on the project object via system action. In this process we are setting the work status as completed when the portfolio owner approves. It is affecting few projects and not all, could you suggest what is the reason for that?

Cause

ERROR 2025-08-19 20:08:42,853 [Post Condition Transition Pipeline 0 (tenant=clarity)] security.CustomSubObjectSecurityDelegate (clarity:process_admin:session_id:none) () unable to load parent object for custom_subobject, either ParentObject is null : null or ParentPk is invalid : null

Resolution

It was determined that the issue was due to the fact that those users do no have access to update work status attribute on the project object.

When process is making update and user who triggered the process should be having access to update that field. 

Users should have either Project - Manager (Auto) right or Project - Edit Management - All access right.
