Issue/Introduction
I get this message when I attempt to do one of the Capture commands:
SECU053E Not authorized for CAPTURE SYSTEM function
Cause
Security prevents the enduser from accessing the Capture commands by default
Resolution
To resolve, issue the following commands in SYSVIEW:
SECURITY
S for the line next to Section "User Groups"
WHERE yourUserID
S on the line with the groupname that was returned from the WHERE command
S on the line next to Section_Name "Commands Section"
Scroll down the list of commands and ensure that all of the CAP* commands have "A" selected in the Access Column. The A gives access to the command. Options for the Command Access for the different commands may be set as follows:
A Allows the use of the command or subcommand.
F Forbids the use of the command or subcommand.
L Logs the use of the command in the Audit Log
whenever a member of the group enters the command.
Use with the A or F definition.
M Displays message GSVX014I on the system log
whenever a member of the group enters the command.
Use with the A or F definition.
If defined for the following commands, and a REPLY
command is issued, the reply is suppressed from
the message. This suppression preserves the
integrity of confidential replies.
MASTER
MVS
WTOR
XMVS
Note that the user needing the authority must then back all the way out of SYSVIEW and log back in, in order for the changes to be picked up.
Additional Information
For SYSVIEW 17.0, ensure that PTF LU08663 is applied.
