Issue/Introduction

This article documents the compatibility considerations for IDMS with different releases of MQ.

Release: All supported releases.

Resolution

IDMS has its own MQ Adapter which is a relatively recent addition to the IDMS product line. It was first provided with PTF SO07191 in 2019. It is not a separate component or product and requires no extra licence or LMP key. All that is needed is the PTF.

The IDMS MQ Adapter supports any release of IBM MQ from 8.0 or later. This is documented at Configure the MQ Adapter.

However, there are several third party products which are applications which run in IDMS and provide support for MQ. IDMS sees such products as normal IDMS applications and is unaware of the MQ considerations. Sites running one of these third party MQ Adapters must check with the relevant vendor for the support of various MQ releases.
