CSDK solution creating VMDK on ramdisk impacts host memory

Issue/Introduction

A vSphere warning occurs when a CSDK solution requires a persistent volume on OSDATA, but the OSDATA partition lacks sufficient space or is not located on a persistent volume. Consequently, the CSDK solution creates the persistent volume on ramdisk, which negatively impacts host memory performance

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1

Cause

Insufficient space on the OSDATA partition, or the absence of OSDATA on persistent storage, forces the CSDK solution to utilize host ramdisk for persistent volume creation

Resolution

To resolve this issue, perform one of the following actions:

• Remove unnecessary files from the affected partition to free up space.
• Reconfigure ESX-OSData/scratch to a volume with sufficient available space
