There is a metric called "Last Check Status" in APMIA ASM extension, that has a value of 0, 1 and 2
0 - Monitor is good
1 - Monitor in error state
2 - Monitor in error state but maintenance is on
This metric is useful to account for a monitor that is in error state but is in maintenance so we can ignore it. I don't see an equivalent metric in out of the box ASM to APM integration. Status trend doesn't account for maintenance in ASM. Can we add this metric to OOB ASM to APM Integration and have the same resoltion of 15 sec ?
Checks in maintenance are not reported to Direct Ingestion. This means that metrics from checks that were performed when the monitor was in maintenance never appear in DXO2. This includes the Status trend metric.
If you set up an alert on Status trend > 0, and the monitor fails in maintenance mode, the metric remains at 0 and the alert is not triggered.
Conversely, if a monitor fails when it's not in maintenance mode, Status trend is set to non-zero. If a subsequent check is OK but in maintenance, the metric remains non-zero. The first OK check after maintenance ends sets it to zero.
There is no plan to add checks-in-maintenance to DXO2. The ASM maintenance windows functionality will be retired. Instead, use DX OI Maintenance Windows Create Maintenance Windows to suppress platform alarms at specified times.
In DXO2 Synthetics we will eventually introduce monitor schedules, which are equivalent to ASM maintenance windows with 'Do not schedule in maintenance' enabled.
