Issue/Introduction

Running Sync task to update the current host name or FQDN of VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle with VMware Identity Manager fails with below error

LCMVIDM71147
Failed to update Auth provider with VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle hostname.
Failed to update VMware Identity Manager catalog app for VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle. Failed to update catalog app weblink with id <web_link_id> : {"errors":[{"code":"catalogitem.not.found","message":"No catalog item found for specified UUID: <UUID>","parameters":{"catalogItemId":"<catalogitemID>"}}]}. Ensure VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle is associated with Auth provider <auth_provided_fqdn>, if not re-register VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle with Auth provider.

Environment

Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.x
VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7

Cause

This issue may arise due to:

  • The presence of one or more Aria Suite Lifecycle (vRSLCM) catalog web app links observed within vIDM.
  • The vRSLCM catalog being manually added to vIDM.

Resolution

Note : Please take non-memory snapshots of Aria Suite Lifecycle and VMware Identity Manager environment

  • If you come across one or more vRSLCM catalog web app links in vIDM, please verify whether each link was generated automatically by vRSLCM or created manually.
  • Remove any manually created links, as shown in the example below.

Run the task to Re-register VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle with Authentication Provider

  • Login to LCM with local admin user.
  • Go to Lifecycle Operations > Settings > Authentication Provider
  • Click on Re-register

  • After the task completes successfully, log in to the vIDM portal. You should now see the Aria Suite Lifecycle (vRSLCM) catalog entry, as shown in the screenshot below.

  • Click the vRSLCM catalog web app link, and you should see the description stating: "WebLink application autogenerated by vRSLCM."
