Unable to edit per period metrics columns of Cost Plans in Hierarchy

Issue/Introduction

In modern ux, when investments are synchronized into a Hierarchy and subsequently into the per-period metric column of the synchronized Cost Plan (Plan of Record), attempting to edit the value results in an error message: “Error updating instance” being displayed as a toast message. Refreshing the browser reflects the edited value.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1 Access Clarity and create a Cost Plan in a project and make it as the plan of record

2 On Modern UX access the Hierarchies workspace and create an instance of type: Investment

3 Navigate into the created instance and under the Investments tab click on the Import button and select Project option

4 Add the project as referenced in Step 1

5 Click on the Financials module and the Cost Plan as created on Step 1 will be visible

6 Modify the value under the per-period metric column: Cost 

Expected Results :-

The value should get updated in the Cost column's cell

Actual Results :-

The value under the Cost column does not get saved and the following error message: Error updating instance is seen as a toast message. Refreshing the browser, removes the error and the edited value under the Cost column is visible

 

 

Environment

Clarity PPM 16.3.1 and all preceding valid Clarity releases

Resolution

This issue is no longer reproducible under Clarity version 16.3.2 patch 1 and subsequent releases.

Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade to Clarity 16.3.2 patch 1 or to a later release.
