Issue/Introduction

When running a batch job which successfully performs a TMSCOPY (backup), and is later followed by a TMSCLEAN job step to scratch tapes, the following error message is generated in TMSCLEAN and this job step ends with a U0008 abend:

*** Audit data set passed threshold

Resolution

This issue can be resolved by creating a much larger AUDIT file. Details on creating, sizing and activating a new AUDIT file can be found here:

The message description (in the CA1 Messages manual) for this error shows: 

Reason:
The Audit data set is full.

Action:
Execute TMSCOPY to back up the TMC and Audit data sets and resubmit the job.

However, in this case the AUDIT file needs to be enlarged to accommodate the number of records being processed by TMSCLEAN.
