How to Configure additional SRM Site Pairs with Custom Extension IDs for Existing vCenter Deployments

Issue/Introduction

This KB article explains how to add a Site Recovery Manager (SRM) site pair with a custom extension to an existing vCenter Server deployment already utilizing an SRM site pair with the default .vcDr extension.

For example:

 VC A  ---------  VC B    --> vCenter
SRM A1 --------- SRM B1   --> Existing pair with .vcDr extension
SRM A2 --------- SRM B2   --> Custom extension site pair

Resolution

Follow below steps to configure additional SRM site pairs -

• Setup with SRM site pair with default extension com.vmware.vcDr
  
  
  
  
  
• After registering the custom extension SRM to the VC by following - Configure Multiple VMware Live Site Recovery Server Instances

• Click on "Actions" > select "Add Pairs" > select the newly deployed SRM pairs.
  
  
  

•  Click on "View Details" > Now we will see both the site pairs under the same vCenter.
