Following patching, the ESP / WA Agent 12.1 would not start, and creates core dump. The nohup.err has error like this

Workload Automation Agent: 12.0 / 12.1
The error is related to a possible memory defect in Eclipse J9 JRE.
Add the following line in the agentparm.txt
oscomponent.jvm.x.options=-XX:+UseGetTimeOfDay;-Xms128m;Xmx512m;-Xnoaot
If the "oscomponent.jvm.x.options" already exists in agentparm.txt, then add ';-Xnoaot' to the end. Restart the agent and test again to see if there are any issues.
It is recommended to upgrade the JRE and WA Agent as well. WA Agent 12.0 and 12.1 use any latest build JRE 8. For agent versions 12.1SP1 and above, users can use JRE 11 and 17, which may mitigate the issue as well.
