Issue/Introduction

Error seen in UI:

Cause: Task: (MOR:task-####) (Name:reconfigure) Entity: (MOR:dvs-####) (Name:####) is failed Cannot complete a vSphere Distributed Switch operation for one or more host members.

Error in vobd.log

YYYY-MM-DD In(14) vobd[2098147]: [netCorrelator] 3153914848us: [vob.net.pg.uplink.transition.down] Uplink: vmnic0 is down. Affected portgroup: Management Network. 0 uplinks up. Failed criteria: 128

Cause

  • Failed Criteria 128 is driver reporting a link state down.
  • This can be caused by unplugging the network cable or administratively downing the physical switchport.

 

Resolution

  1. Reseat the network cable.
  2. Review driver firmware, SFP+ module, cable, and/or switchport of the physical switch.
  3. Contact the host hardware vendor for further troubleshooting if Failed criteria 128's continue to be seen in the vobd log.
