Error fetching VCMA Root Certificate in Certificate Management

Issue/Introduction

Attempting to open the Certificate Management vCenter management pane throws an error stating:

Error occurred while fetching vmca root cert: Error occurred while getting certificate rpc_s_no_memory

Environment

Vmware vCenter Server 7.x

Cause

Exhaustion of vmcad memory on vCenter leads to the vCenter being unable to fetch the Root CA certificate

Resolution

Restart vCenter Services:

• Connect to vCenter via SSH session
• Log in with root user
• Enter the bash shell with:

  shell

• Run a service restart on the vCenter: 

  service-control --stop --all && service-control --start --all
