Issue/Introduction

Applications Manager's Java client may display the time in GMT instead of the appropriate time zone.

For example, instead of displaying 05-20-2025 12:30:50 EDT, the time is display as 05-20-2025 12:30:50 GMT-05:00

Environment

Applications Manager 9.x
Java 11+

Cause

Java 11 and above uses Common Locale Data Repository (CLDR) as the default Local Data Provider but CLDR does not support all Regional Formats such as English(India).

Resolution

A fix will be included in Applications Manager version 9.6.2 and/or 9.7

Workaround 1:

This is a OS level change and directions to change Region's Regional Format value may slightly differ.

  1. Open up Windows Settings
  2. Select Time & language
  3. Select Language & region
  4. Under Region settings, change Regional Format to English(United States)
  5. Relaunch Java client

Workaround 2:

This is an per user client level change.

  1. Edit the client.properties file
  2. Add the run option "-Djava.locale.providers=COMPAT" For example:

    runOptions=-Xmx256m -Djava.locale.providers=COMPAT

This will force Java to use Local provider COMPAT instead of CLDR

  3. Relaunch Java client
