Issue/Introduction

Hitting System Limit for SHRLIBRGNSIZE.

D OMVS,L Output:
CURRENT HIGHWATER SYSTEM
USAGE USAGE LIMIT
SHRLIBRGNSIZE 187695104 235929600 235929600

Environment

Release 14.0

Cause

By default, CCS Apache Tomcat has the -Xshareclasses option to improve performance, and OM Web Viewer service is based on CCS Tomcat.

This can lead to excessive Tomcat caching and increased SHRLIBRGNSIZE usage.

Resolution

Comment out the following line to disable Tomcat caching, which will lower Tomcat STC usage towards SHRLIBRGNSIZE.

  • IJO="$IJO -Xshareclasses:name=cacheDMD"

Restart Tomcat after any change made in WSTOMENV

If there are other Web Based application (Tomcat) installed on the same system,  use the same Java version for all Tomcat instance could save JVM shared library (.so) storage usage.
