Issue/Introduction

The NSX Manager cluster observed under the System > Appliances tab is showing status Degraded, and one of the NSX Managers does not display any system load or memory number.

Additionally when that NSX Manager appliance is observed via its console in the vSphere Client, it's unable to boot up due to disk damage / issues.

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

The NSX Manager appliance that's unable to boot up has a disk that's damaged beyond repair causing the appliance to not be able to boot up.

Resolution

As seen in the screenshot below, delete the appliance from the Appliances tab using the Actions -> Delete button:

Once it is fully deleted, you can deploy a new appliance using the same hostname / IP address.
