CA Harvest Software Change Manager CA Harvest Software Change Manager - OpenMake Meister

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to version 14.5, administrators are unable to save changes when adding users to groups within the CA Harvest Administrator. While the user appears to have the correct roles, the granted groups are not visible after refreshing the properties.

Symptoms

  • "External Group" checkbox may be automatically activated when adding a user to an internal group.
  • User property changes (group memberships) do not persist after clicking OK.
  • The "About" box may still show version 14.5.0 even after attempting to apply a patch if interim fixes were previously installed.

Environment

  • Product: CA Harvest Software Change Manager (On-Premise)
  • Release: 14.5
  • OS: All supported Windows platforms

Cause

This issue is caused by a known defect in the initial 14.5.0 release of the Harvest Client and Workbench components.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in release 14.5.01 and higher. See Download Broadcom products and software for steps to download this release.

Additional Information

  1. Verify the current version in Help > About. then select Installation Details
The installed Workbench software listing should show for a 14.5.01. instance:

  2. If the version does not update to 14.5.01 after patching, it may be due to existing interim fixes.
A version readout of "14.5.0.XX" (ex:  14.5.0.45) does NOT qualify as a 14.5.01 or 14.5.1 instance.  14.5.01 and 14.5.1 represent the same lineage.  14.5.01 is not the same lineage as "14.5.0.XX".  Reading the version listings under Windows "Add/Remove Programs" or "Programs and Features" is an unreliable method of verifying product versioning for Harvest.
  3. Completely uninstall the SCM Workbench Client.
  4. Reinstall the base 14.5.0 client.
  5. Apply the 14.5.01 cumulative patch.
