Issue/Introduction

  • In the Migrate configuration phase, task fails with following error:

    • Config translation failed [Reason: [TOPOLOGY] Can not proceed with migration: Northbound Edges in ECMP for a topology graph cannot have different Graceful restart BGP config. Please update and retry.]

Environment

VMware NSX for vSphere

VMware NSX

Cause

This error is thrown because Edges in ECMP have different graceful restart BGP configuration. For a successful Configuration migration, Graceful restart BGP configuration should be same.

Resolution

Perform the following steps to ensure the Graceful restart configuration is uniform across Edges:

  1. Log in to the vSphere Client.

  2. Click Networking & Security > NSX Edges.

  3. Double-click an NSX Edge.

  4. Click Manage > Routing > BGP.

  5. Next to BGP Configuration, click Edit.

  6. Make the Graceful restart configuration uniform for Edges.
