Issue/Introduction

We might receive alert or notification that the primary cell frequently reconnects to the database daily.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director - 10.6.0.1

Cause

This is because on each cell in global.properties this parameter was added. If any the active connection are above 200 this will cause excessive PostgreSQL memory usage, leading to the termination of the Postgres process.
database.pool.maxActive = 200

Resolution

Increase the memory for all the cells as per VMware Cloud Director Appliance Sizing Guidelines
Sometime, increase the memory beyond what is recommended in sizing guidelines to handle the spike in memory consumption allowing OS not to kill VCD or Postgres process.
