Issue/Introduction

• You are unable to change the placement policies of existing Virtual Machines(VMs) inside a particular organization.
• You will see the below error while changing the placement policy for the existing VMs.
  
  [ ########-####-####-####-############ ] The operation failed because no suitable resource was found. Out of xx candidate hubs: xx hubs eliminated because: Only contains rejected VM Groups(s): [[<name of VM group>], <name of VM group>]] Rejected hubs: resgroup-####, resgroup-####, resgroup-####, resgroup-#### - PlacementException NO_FEASIBLE_PLACEMENT_SOLUTION
  
  
• A newly created VM will be working fine for cross cluster placement using the same placement policy

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1

Resolution

The issue is with existing VMs that are part of Virtual Machine DRS Group. The issue will be resolved if you take the VM out of the Virtual Machine DRS group in vSphere.
