Issue/Introduction

  • During V2T migration, A Transport node profile is created as a part of V2T migration
  • The Install/uninstall mapping will be missing on the TNP that is created during V2T migration.

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

It is expected behaviour that the mapping is not in the TNP after V2T migration.

Resolution

Post V2T migration, manually configure the new TNP and apply it to the Cluster with install /uninstall mapping, as the mappings are required if the ESXi host has VMkernel interfaces connected to N-VDS.

Please find the tech doc :

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/nsx/nsxt-dc/3-1/installation-guide/uninstall-nsx-from-a-host-transport-node/verify-host-network-mappings-for-uninstall.html

Additional Information

You won't be able to update the Transport Node Profile on the ESXi Transport Node if VMs are running on that host.

Updates to ESXi Host Transport Node and Transport Node Profile attached to a host with powered-on VMs fail with the error: "The host has powered on VMs which must be moved or powered off before transport node create/update/delete can continue"

Please find the KB : Unable to update Transport Node Profile on ESXi Transport Node if VMs are running on that host

Please create a new TNP with identical configuration and install /uninstall mapping, and apply it to the Cluster
