Host with vSAN service enabled is not in the vCenter cluster

Issue/Introduction

• Hosts are getting the following messages in vCenter:

      Host with vSAN service enabled is not in the vCenter cluster

      Host cannot communicate with one or more other nodes in the vSAN enabled cluster

      vSAN network is not configured

• Cluster does not have vSAN enable or need it enabled. 

 

Cause

Host that were in a cluster that had vSAN configured were moved to a cluster that does not have vSAN enabled. 

Resolution

Run the following on each the hosts to disable the vSAN 

esxcli vsan cluster leave
