Deleting a vVol Datastore Using the vCenter Plugin fails.
VMware ESXi 8.X
To delete the VVOL datastore, please follow these steps.
1. Before deleting a datastore, ensure all virtual machines, templates, and related files are removed or migrated to another datastore.
2. Unmount the datastore from all hosts.
3. Clean up the vVol instance in Storage array, depending on your storage array, we will need to detach the vVol from the storage container.
4. Perform storage rescan
Note:
The delete operation for the datastore permanently deletes all files associated with virtual machines on the datastore. Although you can delete the datastore without unmounting, it is preferable that you unmount the datastore first.
Most vendor documentation suggest using the vendor plugin to delete vVOl Datastore.
