This article addresses the current status and limitations regarding IPv6 support within Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry (TPCF)
Currently there is limited support for IPV6 in Tanzu Platform Cloud Foundry. For example the apps domain can have a IPV6 dns address as described in our docs https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-tanzu/platform/tanzu-platform-for-cloud-foundry/10-0/tpcf/enabling_ipv6.html, however IPV4 is required from the load balancer to gorouters. VMs and system domain resolution require IPV4.
There are several problems outlined in RFC-0038 which describes the current technical limitations for enabling IPV6 in TPCF. Additionally hardened stemcells have IPV6 disabled given cloud foundry components do not support IPV6.
Currently, there are no officially supported workarounds for deploying TPCF with IPv6 for the system domain, Bosh Director, and Bosh Deployed VMs.
