Topology Sync Hung and will not complete

Issue/Introduction

The topology sync has been running for days and will not complete.  Topology config says "Sync already in progress.  Try again once it is complete"

Environment

Dx NetOps Performance Management 24.3.12

Cause

DA kafka properties have not been updated

Resolution

This is a defect that will be addressed in a future release.  As a workaround you can do the following:

 

1. Terminate the hung topology sync: Terminate hung topology sync
2. On the DA go to your install directory (/opt/IMDataAggregator/apache-karaf/etc be default)
3. Edit the following files:
   • kafka.ControlRequestConsumer.cfg 
   • kafka.InventoryProducer.cfg
   • kafka.OnDemandItemStatusConsumer.cfg
4. The following values in each file must be changed
   • feature.enabled=on (from off)
   • bootstrap.servers=<Kafka bootstrap server IP>:9092
5. Rerun topology sync
