VMware SDDC Manager

Issue/Introduction

  • The internal domain intended for use in a VCF deployment ends with a digit. The SDDC Manager UI validation does not allow fully qualified domain names (FQDNs) that end with a number, returning an error stating “invalid FQDN.”
  • According to RFC standards, domain names ending with digits are valid but does not work from SDDC UI

Environment

SDDC manager 5.2.x

Cause

Currently, the UI validator restricts the use of digits in the final segment of the domain name.

Resolution

Resolved in future VCF release.

As a workaround, proceed to use API methods for host commissioning and related tasks.
