Issue/Introduction

  • Backups no completing and erroring out
  • Backup pods are in error state
  • Back pod logs show similar to below:

Cause

The database size on the database pods was too large to be compressed (tar) in the space remaining on the database pod.

Resolution

Cleanup of the Cinder, Glance and Nova databases should be done.  Follow these instructions to perform that operation.

Cleanup soft deleted volumes

Glance API Performance

Purge Nova database of deleted instances
