App Control Package Fails to Install With "Could not open service"

Issue/Introduction

• Trying to upload a package to the console and it fails after upload during installation
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Bit9\Parity Server\Support\*Installer-TIMESTAMP.log log shows error 'Could not open service'

Environment

• App Control Server: All Supported Versions

Cause

WMI permission issues are preventing the command 'SC.EXE QC ParityServer' from being successfully ran by the account being used to run the install

Resolution

Confirm the service account is being used and it has the permissions to run the command
