Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to Security Analytics 8.3.1, a sensor with a proxy server configured will see the message

 

Environment

The system was recently upgraded to version 8.3.1, and a proxy server has been configured.

Cause

A Security Analytics module connecting to a database on the sensor uses the sa-manager hostname to connect.  If there is a proxy server configured, the module attempts to connect through the proxy server, and any connections are rejected. 

Resolution

The fix is simple but requires a reboot.  There is no impact to the current configuration of the system.  Packets are still being captured and indexed.

  1. Log in to the UI with an admin account
  2. Browse to Settings -> Network. 
  3. Find the line labelled "No Proxy". 
  4. Add the hostname "sa-manager". 
  5. Select Sav,e and the system will reboot with the new configuration.
