Issue/Introduction

How can we remove the NetOps Portal Reports -> On-Demand Report Templates menu choice?

At this time we only use the Portal web UI for the Operational Reports that has replaced the JasperSoft CABI integration with Spectrum.

We only have a Spectrum Data Source configured in Portal.

We will only use the Reports -> Operational Reports menu and would like to remove the On-Demand Reports option to remove a feature users can't use.

All supported Network Observability DX NetOps Portal web server releases

Resolution

This changes it for the Administrator Role. Apply the same changes to any Role assigned to users that should not see the On-Demand Report Templates menu choice from the Reports drop down.

To remove the On-Demand Report Templates menu choice from the Reports drop down follow these steps.

1. Log in as a user assigned the Administrator Role.
2. Go to Administration -> User Settings -> Roles.
3. Select the Administrator role and then the Edit button.
4. Select the line with the DX NetOps entry and then select to Edit it.
   
   
   
   
5. Enable the "Allow any rights to be removed from the Administrator role" option and click Yes when asked to approve the change.
6. Move the following Role Rights from "Selected Rights" to "Available Rights".
   
   
   
   
7. Save the changes to the Role.

No service restarts should be needed.

After the browser tab reloads any user with the role with the removed rights should now only see Reports -> Operational Reports.
