Issue/Introduction

VCenter DB and VCD DB not in synchronization 

Environment

VCenter 7.x

VCloud director 10.x

 

Cause

  • VM in VCD shows template VM value in "Name in Vsphere" 
  • Due to DB synchronization problem between Vcenter (VC) and Vcloud director (VCD), the VM in VCD got mapped to template in Vcenter.

Resolution

  1. Unregister the VM and template from Vcenter using "Remove from Inventory" option.
  2. Re-register the VM by navigate to VM's files in datastore then select VM's VMX file and click "Register VM" option.
  3. Post re-register, perform "re-connect" of VCenter from VCD; this will re-sync the DB between VC and VCD.
