How to deactivate the federation partnership using XPSExplorer?
Environment
SiteMinder 12.5, 12.51, 12.52. All supported OS
Resolution
For SAML 2.0 Partnerships, go to command prompt and run XPSExplorer. 1. PartnershipBase (It should be 56, but check to confirm) 2. s - Search objects (It lists all Partnership) 3. Identify the partnership that need to be deactivated and enter its corresponding number. 4. Enter W (Get writable copy) 5. Locate Status attribute (It should be 58, but check to confirm) and enter the selection 6. Enter ? to view the options: Attr: Status [CA.FED::PartnershipBase.Status] Desc:"Specifies the status of this partnership" Type: Number {1} ------------------------------- Bits ------------------------------ 1 - Defined = 2 2 - Inactive = 4 3 X Active = 3 4 - Incomplete = 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------- (Currently the status is active) 7. To Deactivate - Enter 4. 8. Enter U to update 9. Quit XPSExplorer
For WSFED Partnerships, go to command prompt and run XPSExplorer. 1. WSFEDPartnershipBase (It should be 85, but check to confirm) 2. s - Search objects (It lists all WSFED Partnership) 3. Identify the partnership that need to be deactivated and enter its corresponding number. 4. Enter W (Get writable copy) 5. Locate Status attribute (It should be 58, but check to confirm) and enter the selection 6. Enter ? to view the options: Attr: Status [CA.FED::WSFEDPartnershipBase.Status] Desc:"Specifies the status of this partnership" Type: Number {1} ------------------------------- Bits ------------------------------ 1 - Defined = 2 2 - Inactive = 4 3 X Active = 3 4 - Incomplete = 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------- (Currently the status is active) 7. To Deactivate - Enter 4. 8. Enter U to update 9. Quit to Main Menu 10. STSWebService (It should be 153, but check to confirm) 11. s - Search objects (It lists all Secure Token Service objects) 12. Identify the STS that need to be deactivated and enter its corresponding number. 13. Enter W (Get writable copy) 14. Locate IsEnabled attribute 15. Update from "True" to "False" 16. Enter U to update 17. Quit XPSExplorer
