Issue/Introduction

If you install Tanzu Mission Control Self-Managed using the UI installer and select either LDAP or Active Directory as the identity provider, you may encounter a login error.

Failed to execute the API call. error validating, invalid values: .oidc.issuerType must be pinniped .oidc.issuerURL must be https://pinniped-supervisor.FQDN/provider/pinniped

Environment

Tanzu Mission Control Self-Managed(TMC-SM) v1.4.2
Tanzu Mission Control Self-Managed(TMC-SM) CLI v1.4.2

Cause

The TMC-SM CLI included with the Tanzu Mission Control Self-Managed 1.4.2 tar file omitted required OIDC configuration parameters when LDAP or Active Directory were selected as the identity provider.

Resolution

Download the patched TMC-SM CLI version 1.4.2-p1 from the Broadcom Support Portal. Before proceeding with installation, replace the original TMC-SM CLI included in the tmc_self_managed_1.4.2.tar archive with the patched 1.4.2-p1 version.

Verify Correct TMC-SM CLI version:

./tmc-sm version
1.4.2-p1
