Issue/Introduction

• Creating a content library in VCFA 9 fails with an error similar to this:
  [ ########-####-####-####-############ ] Internal Server Error
 - class com.vmware.ssdc.val.types.StoragePodVALRef cannot be cast to class com.vmware.ssdc.val.types.DatastoreVALRef (com.vmware.ssdc.val.types.StoragePodVALRef and com.vmware.ssdc.val.types.DatastoreVALRef are in unnamed module of loader java.net.FactoryURLClassLoader @########)

 

• Storage logs may show errors similar to this:
  Registration of a IOFilter VASA Provider https://<ESXI_Host_FQDN>:443/iofiltervp/version.xml failed - Port 1443 might be disabled on corresponding ESXi host or at Firewall level. Please refer kb#375445 for more info.

Environment

VCFA 9.0

Cause

Port 1443 is not open from the Host to vCenter

Resolution

Open port 1443 from the ESXi Host to vCenter as per this KB:
Registration of a IOFilter VASA Provider failed after upgrading to ESX 9.0
