Issue/Introduction

Error: "Service "VMware Aria Operations for Logs Agent" Could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system devices"" while installing Aria Operations for Logs Agent on Windows. 

Environment

Aria Operations for Logs 8.X

Cause

UAC is enabled. 

Resolution

Disable UAC by below steps: 

1. In Search box type "msconfig" press Enter. 
2. A Window Pops Up. 
3. Click Tools>>Change UAC Settings>>Click Launch:

4. Check the position of the UAC bar and make note of it. Mostly it is as below:

5. Bring the bar down, it sets to "Never Notify">>Click OK. 

5. Restart VM. 
6. Once the Agent is installed Enable UAC Back. Set the bar back to its original position and restart the machine.
