Ad Hoc View error in Dashboard

Issue/Introduction

Issue: 

While trying to add an Ad Hoc View to a Dashboard, we receive an error message. 

Error message: "An unexplained error has occurred and the operation failed."

Why is it not possible to add this Ad Hoc View to a dashboard? 

 

Cause:

This is a limitation within Jaspersoft Dashboard. 

 

Workaround:

To show Ad Hoc View in the Dashboard, create a report based on this first: 

1. Right-click on the Ad-Hoc View and select the option "Create Report" and save this as a report. 
2. Then in the Dashboard you can drag the report to the dashboard pane.
