Issue/Introduction

Running the configuration update, "Register SDDC Manager as an online depot for ESX images and addons in vCenter Server" fails with the error: "The recent configuration update started at Month Day, Year, Time, but failed please check upgrade details.

There is a proxy configured in the environment.

The /var/log/vmware/vcf/domainmanager/domainmanager.log on SDDC manager may contain the following error:

Resolution

Check proxy server configuration for blocked traffic between vCenter and the SDDC manager.

Workaround:

1. Follow the steps in "HTTP Cannot connect to proxy server" when configuring a proxy in vCenter VAMI UI to configure an exclusion for SDDC Manager.
