AL2DBTBK receives SQLCODE = -117, SQLSTATE=S8855, DB RETURN CODE = 88(85)

Issue/Introduction

We are enabling CA7 REST API services by going through the ++HOLD action for PTF LU00650 and encountered errors when executing CAL2JCL (AL2DBTBK).    Do we need to enable this by executing  command   DBUTLTY ACCESS STATUS=WRITE,DBID=nnnn ?

Cause

The database was previously disabled (likely by an ACCESS OFF or ACCESS READ console command, the DBUTLTY ACCESS OPTION=OFF/READ DISABLE function).

Resolution

The Datacom return code  88(85) indicates  the database was disabled from being opened.  To address this you need to enable  the database.  Execute either the ACCESS WRITE nnnn console command or the DBUTLTY ACCESS STATUS=WRITE,DBID=nnnn function.  Another option is to recycle the Datacom/AD Muf.
