No 'Month to Date' data in custom 'VIEW' configured with Daily Metrics.

Issue/Introduction

Following configurations will fail to calculate Month to Date data using daily metrics in custom 'VIEW'.

• 'Guest OS Rate' configured with change period "Monthly" under VC Pricing in active policy.
• 'VIEW' configured with daily metrics (Summary| Metering |CPU price/ Memory price/ Storage price/ additional price) for a virtual machine.

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

Incorrect configuration in 'VIEW' configured with Daily metrics will not populate monthly data.

Resolution

To calculate 'Month to Date' values from daily metrics, follow below steps:

1. Login to Aria Operations UI page.
2. Go to Operations option to create new VIEW.
3. Create a List View.
4. Under 'Data' option, select Virtual machine under subject, add daily metrics from (Summary| Metering).
   for example: CPU price, Memory price, Storage price, additional price.
5. Change 'Transformation' to SUM.
   
6. Go to 'Time Settings' and 'Advanced' option. Select start on first minute of the month under 'Relative Start Date'.
