Issue/Introduction

Issue:

CA Datacom batch utility DBUTLTY running function RETIX fails with  

     DB13001E - UNEXPECTED RETURN CODE 13 (62) 

A closer look at the job's jes log shows IBM Sort error:

   +ICE046A 0 FOSTRGF .RETIX SORT CAPACITY EXCEEDED - RECORD COUNT nnnnnnn

Cause

The RETIX SORT parameter value exceeds the IBM SORT specified sort work space.

 

Resolution

Reduce the SORT=value and/or add  SORTDFLT=YES . You also might need to increase the number of SORT Work files by coding SORTWK=nn  on the RETIX card. 

Additional Information

Note that this RC 13(62) can also occur when running the DBUTLTY LOAD function.
