Network Extension Validation Fails Without Error Message in UI

Issue/Introduction

• Attempting to extend an overlay segment within a cloud-to-cloud site pairing configuration.
• Network Extension Validation Fails Without Error Message in UI as shown below,

• HCX Manager /common/logs/admin/app.log shows the following error message

java.lang.NullPointerException: null

Cause

This issue has been acknowledged as a product defect in HCX 4.11.x versions , specifically affecting cloud-to-cloud site pairing configurations.

Resolution

This issue has been resolved in HCX 9.0 and later releases. It remains unresolved in the 4.11 branch as of now.

Workaround:

• Selecting the "Allow Overlapping VLAN" option during Network Extension validation results in a successful message:

“Validation completed. Submit to proceed.”

• Following this, the network extension can be successfully completed.
