Issue/Introduction

Experiencing high CPU usage on XCOM for Windows 11.6 SP03 installed on 6 Windows Server 2016 Standard VMware VMs.

In particular the xcomtcp background jobs are consuming very high CPU resources, spiking the CPU's up to 99%-100% and making remote desktop access (RDP) or any actions difficult and time consuming.
When stopping the XCOM service (xcomd), it takes a very long time to remove the xcomtcp.exe from the task manager.
XCOM will show it is off, yet the xcomtcp lingers for 5-10 minutes, before closing and the CPU drops to normal range.

Trellix Endpoint Security software causing issues has been ruled out and the latest VMware drivers have been installed.

See below example Task Manager screenshot showing high CPU usage:

Each VM has 2 processors and 4GB RAM per systeminfo command output:

Environment

XCOM™ Data Transport® for Windows 11.6 SP03, 12.0.

Resolution

The CPU problem was caused by Windows policy changes that were performed on the servers and those changes have now been backed out.
The xcomtcp processes no longer show high CPU symptoms.
