Put New TSS PERMIT Before Existing Matching Permits

Issue/Introduction

A PROFILE has various dataset permissions with PRIVPGM/LIBRARY defined. There was a reported failure to access this dataset caused by a permission not given to the profile. When the administrator did the permit, it was added at the end of current permissions.

TSSSIM was run to check for the access. This new permit was not used and accessing to the dataset was denied because this new permit was the last in search order.

Can a 'TSS PERMIT' command add a permission in a way so it will be defined prior to any existing permission(s) or should you delete current permissions and add them in the order you want?

Resolution

There isn't a way to have a 'TSS PERMIT' command add the permission so it will be prior to any existing permission(s). You will have to REVOKE the current permissions and re-PERMIT them in the order you want.
